EPFL in Switzerland has announced its 2027 Excellence Scholarship, offering fully funded fellowships to outstanding Master's degree applicants, with a closing date of 15 December 2026. The award is valued at CHF 40,000, equivalent to $45,650, for students completing a two year degree programme.
According to the scholarship details, successful applicants receive CHF 10,000 per semester, alongside a reserved room in a student residence and a certificate of excellence issued at the end of the programme. Candidates pursuing a one and a half year degree are eligible for a reduced total of CHF 30,000.
The Institution disclosed that applicants from any Country and of any Nationality may apply, provided they are seeking admission to an EPFL Master's Programme. Anyone holding a Bachelor's degree or its recognised equivalent in a related field from an accredited University qualifies to apply.
Selection for the fellowship, the Institution noted, rests solely on an evaluation of each candidate's academic record, with no separate application process required beyond the standard admission procedure. The scholarship remains open to eligible candidates from all Countries worldwide, with no nationality restrictions applied.
Prospective applicants have been advised to prepare their academic documents ahead of the 15 December 2026 deadline, as EPFL confirmed that funding decisions are tied directly to the strength of a candidate's prior academic performance. The Excellence Scholarship forms part of the Institution's broader effort to attract high performing students into its Master's level programmes for the 2027 intake.
