The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has issued its sternest warning yet, any candidate who registers more than once will have all registrations completely cancelled.

"Candidates are not permitted to register more than once," JAMB stated. "Duplication of application vitiates all the applications."

JAMB clarified that candidates who make genuine errors during registration should seek correction from the Board, not purchase another form.

"Such candidates are to seek correction from the Board and not to obtain a fresh application, as duplication of application vitiates all the applications,"

Beyond double registration, JAMB banned using multiple National Identification Numbers for double registration, impersonation, or identity manipulation. This will be "strictly prohibited and will be severely sanctioned."

JAMB introduced compulsory disclosure for candidates previously admitted to any tertiary institution. Candidates must indicate their previous registration details and year of UTME/DE at registration.

"Any false or non declaration of previous registration/matriculation will automatically invalidate the candidate's registration/previous admission."

However, changing institutions is allowed, only failing to disclose is an offence.

"Having been previously admitted and wishing to change or start afresh in another institution or programme is allowed, however, failure to disclose such prior admission is an offence."

JAMB declared in capital letters: "GROUP/SCHOOL BASED REGISTRATION OF CANDIDATES IS NOT ALLOWED. MOST CANDIDATES REGRET IT THEREAFTER."

Schools cannot register students in bulk, and each candidate must appear personally for biometric capture.

The profile code system prevents multiple registrations, one NIN generates one profile code, one phone number for one profile code. Profile codes remain the same for all future JAMB applications.

Compulsory capture of all ten fingerprints and photographs serves as JAMB's primary detection tool. The system compares biometric data across the entire database to identify duplicate entries.

"Non candidates, including parents/guardians or any proxy, are not allowed to transact any business on any candidate's profile."

Candidates who make passwords or profile codes available to others will be held liable for any alterations.

The use of "automatically invalidate" suggests this is a system-level consequence requiring no individual review, once non disclosure is detected, registrations become void.
