Taraba State Polytechnic, Suntai, has announced its first Convocation Ceremony, scheduled for July 30 and 31, and August 1, 2026, following approval by the Executive Governor of Taraba State.

According to a statement from the Institution's Management, the Ceremony will cover graduands from 1995 to 2025, with pioneer sets among those to be formally presented with their awarded certificates and academic achievements.

The Management directed all Deans, Heads of Department and Unit Heads to inform their Staff and Students to ensure full participation, describing the event as a memorable occasion for the Polytechnic.

The Institution congratulated all graduating Students and Alumni ahead of the Ceremony, expressing hope for a successful and memorable outing as it marks this milestone in its academic history.

The Convocation comes more than three decades after the Polytechnic's establishment was first initiated in 1991 under the Administration of Navy Captain A.A. Afolahan, with the Administration of Rev. Jolly T. Nyame later putting in place the machinery for its takeoff. The Edict formally establishing the Institution was signed into law in 1994 by the then Military Administrator, Col. Yohanna Dickson, and was subsequently amended by the Taraba State House of Assembly, coming into enforcement on December 16, 2011.

The Polytechnic is accredited by the National Board for Technical Education and offers National Diploma and Higher National Diploma programmes across several Schools, with departments spanning engineering, business and management studies, agriculture and environmental studies, among other fields.

That the graduands being honoured span a thirty year period, from 1995 to 2025, without a single Convocation held until now, underscores the scale of the backlog the Institution's Management is seeking to clear with the ceremony.
