The ongoing review of flagged entries from the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination has produced its latest outcome, with the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board announcing the release of 279 results that were previously held back pending investigation.
Board spokesman Fabian Benjamin disclosed the development on Thursday, noting that the newly freed results were in addition to those already made public in earlier releases, and that the decision to clear them followed a careful assessment that returned no sufficient evidence of wrongdoing against the affected candidates.
The board was categorical on the standard applied in reaching its decisions. "While some results have been outrightly cancelled where evidence of malpractice was established, others have been released where the Board found no prima facie case against the affected candidates," Benjamin stated.
Not all withheld results have been resolved. Scores tied to examination centres where JAMB's live monitoring team flagged suspicious activity during the conduct of the test, or where the board received adverse reports from other sources, remain under review. The board affirmed that where evidence of culpability is deemed sufficient at the end of the process, cancellation will follow.
The 2026 UTME was held between 16 and 25 April at accredited computer based test centres nationwide, and the malpractice review has been running since the conclusion of the exercise.
Those yet to receive their results can verify their status by sending UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019, using the same phone number that was provided at the point of registration. Candidates who have received their results can also print their 2026 UTME result slip
