Seven academic programmes at Achievers University, Owo, have received full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC), following a comprehensive assessment conducted in October and November 2025.
The accredited programmes are medical laboratory science, civil and environmental engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, microbiology, criminology and security studies, and sociology.
In a formal letter signed by the commission's director of accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu, the NUC confirmed that all seven programmes met its stringent quality assurance requirements covering curriculum content, staffing, infrastructure, library resources and academic delivery. Full accreditation, the highest status granted by the commission, remains valid for five years.
Acting Vice Chancellor Prof. Oyesoji Aremu described the outcome as a major boost to the institution's academic profile, attributing the feat to sustained investment in faculty development, modern laboratory facilities and continuous curriculum review aligned with global best practices.
"I'm excited to inform you that the university has secured full accreditation of the following programmes from the NUC. The news is cheering, and it's a good one to start the new week," Aremu stated.
He credited the achievement to the collective commitment of the Governing Council, led by Pro Chancellor Prof. Bode Ayorinde, alongside principal officers, deans, heads of departments and members of staff.
Aremu congratulated the university community and called on all members of staff and students to remain steadfast in sustaining the institution's culture of excellence.
"We will not rest on our oars, even as we draw encouragement from this achievement. I urge all members of the university community to remain steadfast in upholding and continually advancing the high standards of excellence for which Achievers University is renowned," he added.
The acting vice chancellor noted that the latest accreditation success further strengthens Achievers University's standing as one of Nigeria's fast rising private universities committed to delivering quality higher education.
