Eligibility Criteria for TSU Post UTME 2025/2026

To qualify for the Taraba State University screening exercise, candidates must satisfy the following institutional and regulatory requirements:

First Choice Choice Preference

Only candidates who selected Taraba State University, Jalingo, as their most preferred first choice institution during the 2025 UTME registration are eligible to apply.

Candidates who did not initially choose TSU but scored up to the required cut off mark must execute a "Change of Institution" on the JAMB CAPS portal before the screening registration closes.

Minimum UTME Cut Off Mark

The official general cut off mark for the 2025/2026 academic session is 150. However, competitive courses such as nursing science, medical laboratory science, law, and engineering demand far higher aggregate scores.

O-level Requirements

Applicants must possess a minimum of five O-level credit passes in relevant subjects, including English language and mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings.

TSU accepts WASSCE/WAEC, National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB), and NECO results.

Age Requirement

Candidates must be at least 16 years of age by the time admission lists are finalised to qualify for registration.

How to Apply for the TSU Post UTME Screening Form

The application process is entirely online and follows a structured sequence. Candidates should set aside enough time to complete each stage carefully, as errors during registration can delay processing or, in some cases, disqualify an application.

Step 1: Visit the Official Portal

Go to the official TSU admissions portal at https://apply.tsuniversity.edu.ng/register.php. Avoid unauthorised websites claiming to offer "shortcuts" to registration, as these are often scams targeting desperate applicants.

Step 2: Create an Account

New applicants need to register by providing their JAMB registration number, a valid and frequently checked email address, and an active phone number.

A verification code is typically sent to the registered email, so candidates should ensure they can access that inbox.

Step 3: Generate and Pay the Screening Fee

The TSU UTME form price is N2,000, payable through Remita after logging into the portal. Payment can usually be completed online via card or bank transfer, or in person at any commercial bank using the generated Remita Retrieval Reference (RRR).

Step 4: Complete the Bio-data Form

Once payment is confirmed, log back into the portal to fill in personal details, contact information, and JAMB registration data.

Verify every entry, as inconsistencies between the portal data and JAMB records can cause complications later.

Step 5: Upload O-level Results

Candidates must enter their WAEC, NECO, or NABTEB grades and upload scanned copies of the original result documents. Ensure scanned images are clear and the file size matches the portal's specifications.

Step 6: Review and Submit

Before final submission, review all entries for typos, incorrect grades, or mismatched personal details. Once satisfied, click submit to finalise the application.

Step 7: Print Your Documents

After successful submission, print the screening acknowledgement slip and payment receipt. These documents will be required during physical screening and, potentially, at the point of final registration on campus.

Documents Required for Screening

Candidates invited for physical screening, where applicable, should come prepared with original and photocopied versions of the following:

Document

Purpose

JAMB Result Printout

Confirms UTME score and registration

JAMB Admission Letter

Confirms conditional admission status

WAEC/NECO/NABTEB Result

O-Level

TSU Online Registration Printout

Confirms completed online application

Coloured Passport Photographs

Used for identification and keeping records

JAMB UTME Registration Number

Confirms the candidate's JAMB profile

Candidates who have been granted conditional admission on the JAMB Admission Status portal are required to attend physical screening at TSU to complete their admission process, so this documentation list applies particularly to that category of applicants.
