The Aliko Dangote Foundation has signed a ₦1.5 billion Memorandum of Understanding with Bayero University Kano to support postgraduate learners at the Dangote Business School.
The agreement, executed in Kano, provides ₦300 million yearly for five years as scholarship funding for eligible MBA, entrepreneurship, and management students.
The MoU was jointly endorsed by ADF Board of Trustees member, Mariya Aliko Dangote, and the Vice Chancellor, Haruna Musa.
Under the arrangement, each beneficiary will receive ₦150,000 per academic session from the 2024/2025 academic year. This covers 50% of the current ₦300,000 tuition charge. The Business School currently has 1,225 students, comprising 696 new entries and 529 returning participants.
Speaking on the initiative, the Chairman of ADF and Group President of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, represented by Mariya Dangote, said the programme reflects the foundation’s focus on human capital growth and enterprise development.
He noted that strengthening business and entrepreneurship training remains essential for transforming knowledge into innovation, employment, and economic opportunity.
In his remarks, Vice Chancellor Haruna Musa described the intervention as timely support for many households, adding that it reinforces the Business School’s position as a centre for managerial and entrepreneurial training, especially for women in leadership roles.
Representing beneficiaries, Khalid Bababubu expressed appreciation to the foundation, stating that recipients are grateful for the opportunity and committed to using the support responsibly.
The scholarship scheme, known as the MHF Dangote Graduate Business Scholarship, marks a transition from infrastructure assistance to direct investment in individuals and leadership capacity.
Unlike ADF’s nationwide STEM programmes focused on secondary and undergraduate science education, this initiative targets postgraduate learners and institutional development in entrepreneurship and management.
Since the commissioning of the Dangote Business School complex in 2018, ADF has continued to support facility upkeep. The new programme reflects a shift towards strengthening human resources to drive enterprise growth, job creation, and sustainable economic progress.
