Aptech Computer Education has launched the 18th edition of its Career Quest programme, offering Nigerian students scholarships worth up to 50% and a faster route to United Kingdom degrees through its partnership with Middlesex University London.

Billed as Nigeria's largest career seminar, the programme runs from August 7 to 15 across Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Enugu, Calabar, Abeokuta and Ota, with virtual sessions added for students unable to attend in person.

Under the partnership, students who complete Aptech's Advanced Diploma programmes qualify for direct entry into the final year of selected bachelor's degree programmes at Middlesex University London, including Information Technology and Business Information Systems, Business Computing and Data Analytics, Animation, and 3D Animation for Games and Films. Aptech states the arrangement cuts both the duration and cost of earning internationally recognised degrees while building industry relevant skills for global employment.

Career Quest participants will also be entered into a scholarship draw offering up to 50% tuition support for eligible UK degree programmes, alongside discounts on selected professional and short term technology courses.

Executive Vice President, International Business, Aptech Limited, Kallol Mukherjee, noted that the initiative reflects the company's commitment to building future ready talent for a technology driven global economy. He added that Aptech's collaboration with Middlesex University London continues to widen access to globally recognised qualifications and practical industry skills for Nigerian students.

More than 1,200 Nigerian students have pursued overseas education through Aptech's international pathway programmes across the past two decades, the organisers disclosed, while scholarships valued at more than ₦621 million were awarded during the previous edition of Career Quest.

This year's attendees will receive career guidance from Aptech and Middlesex University experts, covering emerging technology disciplines, international study opportunities, networking and career development.

The programme arrives as Nigeria's Information and Communications Technology sector plays an increasingly central role in the economy, with industry estimates placing its contribution at close to one fifth of gross domestic product, driven by growth in fintech, software development, artificial intelligence, cloud services and digital infrastructure. Aptech has operated in Nigeria for 25 years and runs more than 70 training centres nationwide.
