Sixty students of Bamidele Olumilua University of Education, Science and Technology, Ikere Ekiti, will receive First Class degrees at the institution's second convocation ceremony, scheduled to hold on Saturday.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Babatunde Omojola disclosed the breakdown during a press conference in Abuja on Monday, revealing that 563 graduates would receive Second Class Upper Division degrees, 854 Second Class Lower, and 168 Third Class, bringing the total graduating cohort to 1,645 undergraduate students.
"These figures are not just statistics; they reflect our commitment to academic excellence, quality teaching and the resilience of our students," Omojola stated, adding that "BOUESTI remains committed to its mandate of producing graduates who are not only academically sound, but also innovative, entrepreneurial and globally competitive."
Beyond the graduation figures, Omojola used the occasion to highlight key institutional milestones recorded in the past year, including the construction of a multipurpose hall and the establishment of postgraduate studies, describing them as evidence of the university's expanding academic footprint.
The Vice Chancellor pointed to the institution's enrolment growth as a further indicator of its rising standing. Founded in 2020 and holding its first matriculation in 2021 with 2,401 students, BOUESTI now has 22,994 students on its rolls. "This remarkable growth underscores the rising confidence in the university and affirms its reputation as one of the fastest growing state universities in Nigeria and Sub Saharan Africa," he said.
Omojola, who assumed office on January 6, 2026, also acknowledged the contributions of his predecessor, pioneer Vice Chancellor Prof. Olufemi Adeoluwa, stating that his dedication "laid a solid foundation for the university. His efforts have positioned BOUESTI as a force to reckon with."
The convocation ceremony marks a significant moment for the university, which has recorded consistent growth across student population, infrastructure and academic programmes since its establishment.
