Education is the most enduring currency of greatness, the Provost of the Federal College of Education (Technical), Umunze, Professor Theresa Okoli, has told 1,860 graduating students, urging them to channel their energies into building sustainable careers rather than engaging in cybercrime.

Okoli delivered the caution at the institution's joint convocation ceremony, where a total of 1,860 students received the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) and Professional Diploma in Education (PDE) certificates. The provost warned that cybercrime, which has become a prominent activity among Nigerian youths, poses a significant threat to their professional lives and could have devastating consequences on their future careers.

She enjoined the graduands to be worthy ambassadors of the institution, to invest in knowledge, to pursue postgraduate studies and to avoid antisocial behaviour entirely. Okoli also emphasised that education remains the most enduring path to greatness, urging graduates to prioritise flourishing careers over shortcuts.

The provost acknowledged low enrolment as one of the challenges confronting the college, but expressed optimism that the dual mode programme would improve the situation. She disclosed that the college has introduced compulsory Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training and an ICT Academy to equip students with employable skills relevant to the current job market.
