The Federal University, OyeEkiti has reopened its portal for PostUTME registration for the 2026/2027 academic session, giving prospective candidates more time to complete their applications after the exercise had previously closed.

According to the university, the registration portal, which had earlier closed on July 3, has now been reopened and will remain accessible until August 2, 2026. All interested applicants have been advised to take advantage of the extension to complete their registration before the new closing date.

The screening exercise applies to candidates who selected the Federal University, OyeEkiti as their first choice institution during the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and obtained a minimum score of 150. Candidates who chose the Institution as a second choice are required to first process a change of Iinstitution on the JAMB portal before they can participate. The screening fee remains N2,000, payable only through the official portal using a bank debit card, as the university does not accept cash or third party payments.

Applicants are required to hold a minimum of five O' Level credits, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained at not more than two sittings in subjects relevant to their proposed courses, except for Medicine and Surgery, where credits must have been obtained at one sitting only. Direct Entry candidates are additionally required to possess at least two A' Level credit passes or an equivalent qualification in relevant subjects, though Direct Entry is not available for Medicine and Surgery, Nursing Sciences, or Medical Laboratory Sciences.

The university has also maintained that it will not admit candidates into the Department of Law for the 2026/2027 session, and has advised affected candidates to select an alternative programme on the portal. Admission at the institution is based on an aggregate of UTME scores and O' Level grades rather than a separate written screening test.

This is not the first time the University has extended its screening deadline. During the 2025/2026 admission cycle, the university similarly pushed back its PostUTME deadline to accommodate candidates who had faced difficulties completing the process.

The Federal University, OyeEkiti, established in 2011, operates across two campuses in OyeEkiti and IkoleEkiti in Ekiti State, and currently runs programmes across Sciences, Engineering, Social Sciences, Arts, Education, Medicine, and Agriculture.
