Eighteen corps members in Akwa Ibom State received certificates of participation on Thursday as the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission concluded a sensitisation exercise for the Batch A Stream 2 members of its joint anti corruption Community Development Service group with the National Youth Service Corps.
The exercise held simultaneously across two local government areas, covering the Ikot Ekpene chapter and the Essien Udim Ukana chapter, to deepen the anti corruption message at the grassroots level.
Public Enlightenment and Education Officer, Hope Wobo, addressed corps members on the core mandate of the commission and urged them to embrace patriotism and honesty as essential values in the fight against corruption.
A leadership election was also conducted for the Ikot Ekpene chapter during the event, with Wobo monitoring the process to ensure transparency. The exercise produced a new set of executives who will take over from the outgoing leadership team.
President of the Ikot Ekpene chapter, Akubue Martins Ebuka, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to facilitators and participants for their commitment to the group's anti corruption objectives.
