The Imota Local Council Development Area (LCDA) has commenced the distribution of free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms to underprivileged students within the council.
The authority, led by Hon. Sunday Benson, announced on Monday that 250 indigent JAMB applicants will benefit from the initiative as part of efforts to promote educational access. In a statement, the council explained that the programme aligns with the "Hi-SEE" Transformation Agenda, which aims to remove financial barriers preventing brilliant young minds from accessing tertiary education.
"This initiative, in line with the 'Hi-SEE' Transformation Agenda, is aimed at removing financial barriers that hinder brilliant young minds from accessing tertiary education. By supporting indigent students, we are building a stronger, smarter, and more productive community for tomorrow," the statement read.
The council urged eligible students within the Imota Local Council Development Area to take advantage of the free form distribution. "Eligible students are advised to take advantage of this by contacting the community students' union bodies, youth groups, LGA and ward representatives, and prepare to pursue their academic dreams with confidence," the council stated.
The authority added: "Together, we will build the Imota LCDA of our dreams." The general public, particularly qualifying students, has been encouraged to participate in the scheme, which underscores the council's commitment to educational development and youth empowerment.
