2026 UTME results are now accessible following confirmation by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board that 1,897,692 scores have been released out of 2,243,761 registered candidates, with the final two days still being processed.

Dr Fabian Benjamin, spokesperson for the board, made the confirmation through JAMB's verified X handle, clarifying that the release is being handled in batches tied to each examination date. Candidates who wrote the examination on 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22, and 23 April have already been cleared to check their scores. Those who sat the examination on 24 and 25 April, the final two days of the exercise, will need to wait a little longer as their results are still being processed and will be published as soon as they are ready.

The board has specified that the SMS portal is the only available channel for checking results at this time. Candidates are to send the text "UTMERESULT" to 55019 or 66019, ensuring they use the same telephone line tied to their UTME registration. At least ₦50 airtime must be loaded on the line before the message is sent. JAMB has also made clear that result slips remain unavailable for printing; the current access is strictly for viewing purposes only.

The 2026 UTME ran from 16 April through 25 April across accredited Computer Based Test centres in Lagos, Abuja, and locations nationwide. Registered candidate numbers climbed slightly above the previous year, reaching 2,243,761 in total.

Observers within the education sector have noted a marked improvement in how swiftly results are being turned around this cycle. Adesegun Ogungbayi, board chairman of MIMS Educational Resources Limited, pointed to the board's responsiveness as particularly encouraging.

"The results are released seamlessly, which is commendable. We are particularly happy that JAMB is responsive to our feedback. They release results faster than usual, that is, within 24 hours after the exam. That is not a bad standard," Ogungbayi noted.

Candidates are advised to use only official JAMB platforms for updates on remaining results.
