The printing portal for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination original result slips remains inactive, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has announced, asking candidates to exercise patience while outstanding post examination processes are completed.
JAMB's Public Communication Adviser, Fabian Benjamin, issued the update on Monday, reversing the earlier communicated May 18 start date and citing the board's ongoing ranking computations and preparations for an upcoming mop up examination as reasons for the delay.
"The printing of the 2026 UTME Original Result Slip has not yet been activated. Candidates are kindly urged to be patient as the Board has just concluded the foreign examinations and is also preparing to conduct the mop up examination for candidates who were unable to sit for the main examination through no fault of theirs," Benjamin stated.
The board clarified that the result slip is not a routine score document but a ranking instrument, and that all post examination adjustments must be concluded before it can be made available to candidates.
"Candidates are reminded that the UTME is a ranking examination, and the Original Result Slip contains the ranking of candidates. Consequently, all necessary processes must be completed before the slips can be released," Benjamin noted.
JAMB confirmed that the mop up examination for candidates who missed the main sitting must also be factored into the overall ranking before the portal goes live.
"As soon as the necessary adjustments are concluded, the printing portal will be activated. This will be done shortly, and candidates will be duly informed when to proceed with the printing of their result slips," the statement read.
The board tendered an apology over the development. "We sincerely apologise for the delay and appreciate your understanding," Benjamin added.
Candidates are advised to follow only JAMB's official channels for updates and disregard information from unauthorised sources.
