The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced an alternative requery process for candidates who have updated their biodata on the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) platform but have lost access to their registered phone numbers.
In a statement on its official X account, the Board revealed that affected candidates can now access the requery service using their previously registered email addresses to retrieve updated biodata information.
The service specifically addresses challenges faced by candidates who recently effected changes to their NIMC biodata but are unable to pull the corrected updates for fresh registration due to loss of SIM card access.
JAMB emphasised that the email-based requery service is exclusively available at JAMB Professional Registration Centres (PRCs) across the country and cannot be accessed through regular Computer-Based Test centres or online platforms.
Candidates experiencing this challenge are advised to visit any JAMB Professional Registration Centre with their registration details and a valid form of identification to utilise the service.
The development is expected to ease registration difficulties for numerous 2026 UTME candidates whose NIMC biodata updates have not reflected in the JAMB system due to phone number accessibility issues.
