Kashim Ibrahim University (KIU), Maiduguri, has revised its academic calendar for the 2025/2026 session, pushing First Semester examinations to late March 2026 and adjusting key dates across the remainder of the academic year.
A memo signed by Mrs. Aishatu Ali Chiroma, Acting Director of Human Resources, on behalf of the Registrar, outlines the new schedule. A break has been set from Friday, 6 March to Sunday, 22 March 2026, with First Semester examinations commencing on Monday, 23 March 2026 and running through to Friday, 17 April 2026. The Second Semester will begin on Monday, 20 April 2026.
The revised calendar received executive approval from the Vice Chancellor on behalf of the Senate. Staff and students have been directed to take note of the updated dates and make necessary arrangements.
Kashim Ibrahim University is a state owned institution situated in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno State in north eastern Nigeria. Founded in 2016 as Borno State University, the institution was renamed in 2025 in honour of Senator Kashim Shettima, a former Executive Governor of Borno State and the current Vice President of Nigeria. The university is presently led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Babagana Gutti.
