The Faculty of Education at Lagos State University (LASU) will on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, host its second Distinguished Lecture at Makanjuola Hall, beginning at 11:00 a.m., with a focus on reshaping Nigeria's educational future through curriculum reform and stakeholder engagement.

The lecture, titled "Reshaping Education in Nigeria and Securing a Better Future: The Imperatives of Curriculum Reforms and Stakeholder Engagement," will be delivered by Prof. Clement Fasan, a former Dean of the Faculty of Education at LASU.

Fasan brings considerable academic and policy experience to the engagement. He served as a member of the Nigerian Delegation to the UNESCO Conference held in Paris in 2015 and was a Visiting Professor on Sabbatical at the University of Ottawa, Canada, from 2018 to 2019.

The lecture is expected to examine the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats confronting Nigeria's educational system, with particular emphasis on the urgent need for curriculum overhaul and the role of active stakeholder participation in driving meaningful reform.

The event will bring together academics, education policymakers, students, and members of the public for structured discussions on the direction of education in Nigeria. The Faculty of Education has extended a warm invitation to all interested participants to attend.
