The Lagos State University of Science and Technology has formalised an academic partnership with SGH Warsaw School of Economics, one of Europe's leading business institutions, in a move that opens new pathways for student exchanges, joint research, and faculty development between Nigeria and Poland.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the SGH campus in Warsaw, with LASUSTECH Vice Chancellor, Olumuyiwa Odusanya, signing on behalf of the Nigerian institution, while SGH Rector, Piotr Wachowiak, appended his signature for the Polish university.

A statement issued by the LASUSTECH communication unit on Thursday confirmed that the agreement would create opportunities for students, faculty, and the wider academic community, granting the institution access to SGH's Triple Crown accreditation standards and elite global networks.

Under the terms of the partnership, both institutions will facilitate student exchange programmes with credit transfer, faculty exchange initiatives, and joint research in areas such as financial inclusion and the digital economy. The collaboration will also provide access to extensive academic resources and create openings for engagement with Polish funding agencies and innovation platforms, including the CIC Innovation Hub.

Odusanya described the partnership as a milestone in the institution's global engagement efforts, noting its alignment with both the university's IMPACT model and the Lagos State Government's development agenda.

"This partnership positions LASUSTECH within an elite global academic network and creates pathways for our students and faculty to benefit from international exposure and collaboration," he stated.

The Vice Chancellor added that the agreement would yield practical benefits across several fronts.

"This collaboration strengthens our curriculum, enhances faculty development, and improves student mobility, while also connecting us to European research funding opportunities such as Horizon Europe programmes," Odusanya disclosed.

The LASUSTECH delegation to Warsaw included the Dean of the College of Applied Social Sciences, Olumuyiwa Olamade, and Ayo Eso, both of whom participated in establishing implementation plans during the visit.

The university affirmed that the agreement represents a concrete step in its vision to contribute meaningfully to global academic discourse, adding that it remained committed to building an institution that is globally relevant and locally impactful.

"This agreement marks another important milestone in our internationalisation journey," the statement concluded.
