One thousand indigent Nigerian students will study Computer Science and technology related disciplines for free under a new scholarship programme that covers tuition, accommodation and monthly stipends, with applications now open to qualified candidates across the country.
The Leo Stan Ekeh Foundation, backed by TD Africa, Konga Group, Zinox Technologies and Task Systems, has launched the initiative targeting brilliant but financially disadvantaged students seeking university or polytechnic education in technology fields. Applicants can access the scholarship portal by visiting Konga.com and clicking the "1000 Tech Scholarship" banner.
Beyond paying school fees, the programme will provide beneficiaries with monthly stipends, residential support and intensive holiday training in digital skills and strategic self development. Students will also gain direct mentorship from members of the Nigerian Computer Society and practising technology professionals, giving them industry exposure before graduation.
The scholarship is open to students seeking admission into Federal Universities, State Universities and Polytechnics across Nigeria to study Computer Science and related technology disciplines. Organisers confirmed that selection will be transparent, merit driven and inclusive, with candidates from all parts of Nigeria eligible to apply.
For students who secure a place, the benefits extend well beyond the classroom. The programme is structured to connect beneficiaries with professional networks, hands on experience and market relevant skills designed to position them for employment in Nigeria's growing digital economy.
Africa's technology sector is projected to contribute $1.5 trillion to the continent's economy by 2030, and Nigeria, as the continent's largest economy, sits at the centre of that opportunity. The foundation stated that the scholarship is specifically designed to prepare Nigerian graduates to compete for those emerging roles.
The initiative was conceived by Zinox Group chairman Leo Stan Ekeh to mark his 70th birthday, with support from his network of technology companies.
Students interested in applying should visit Konga.com immediately, click on the "1000 Tech Scholarship" banner, and follow the application guidelines provided on the portal.
