The management of Niger Delta University (NDU) is pleased to announce the commencement of the hostel allocation exercise for the 2025/2026 academic session. This process is designed to provide eligible students with a safe, structured, and comfortable on campus living experience that supports their academic journey from resumption to vacation of the session.

NDU Hostel Allocation 2025/2026 Academic Session

The hostel allocation process for the 2025/2026 academic session will kick off on the 19th of January 2026. All students who have completed their school fees are eligible; they should visit the university portal on the stipulated date of the allocation and apply for bedspaces. With the limited space available, the university will be adopting a first come, first serve system where the first batch of students to apply will be attended to before others are considered.

NDU Hostel Rules and Regulations

  • Students are generally expected to be inside the hostel by 9:00 PM

  • You must always have your hostel photo card and school ID with you. Security or porters can request these at any time.

  • Electric cookers, hot plates, boiling rings, refrigerators, air conditioners, and heavy sound systems.

  • Cooking inside the sleeping quarters is strictly prohibited. Most hostels have designated kitchenette areas or corridors where cooking is permitted.

  • Residents are responsible for the cleanliness of their rooms. The university conducts periodic room inspections, and dirty or disorganised rooms can lead to disciplinary action.

  • Male students are strictly forbidden from entering female hostel rooms, and vice versa. Visits are limited to the common room or the Porter’s lodge during approved visiting hours (usually 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM).

  • Squatting is a major offence. If caught, both the legal occupant and the squatter will face expulsion from the hostel.

  • Smoking, drinking alcohol, and the possession of illicit drugs are strictly banned within the hostel premises.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can I apply for a hostel without paying school fees?
A. No, the systems are integrated; you must have a "Paid" status for your tuition on the NDU fees portal before you can access the hostel interest form.

Q. How many times can I generate a PIN?
A. You are strictly limited to generating a PIN three times. If you exceed this without completing payment, you may be blocked from applying.

Q. How do I know if I have been allocated a space?
After entering your PIN on the hostel portal, the system will immediately display whether an allocation was successful. If successful, you proceed to ndufees.com to pay the full allocation fee.

Q. Are hostel fees refundable?
A. Generally, no. Once a bed space is allocated and paid for, the university does not typically offer refunds.

Q. Is there a separate fee for the "Hostel Photo Card"?
A. No, the cost of printing the photo card is covered within your portal/accommodation fees.

Q. Can I swap my room with a friend?
A. Official swaps are difficult. Any informal swapping is risky because your Photo Card must match the room and bed you occupy during inspections.

Q. What is the difference between a "Choice" and "Non Choice" pin?
A. A Choice Pin (65,000 Naira) allows you to select a specific room and bunk. Non Choice Pin (57,000 Naira) assigns you to any available space automatically.
