Newly admitted students of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) are to undergo a one day orientation programme on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, ahead of the institution's 30th matriculation ceremony scheduled for Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

The information was contained in an official notice signed by the Deputy Registrar of the Academic Registry, Petu Bola Keji, on behalf of the Registrar, and addressed to all Study Centre Directors across the university.

The notice confirmed that the 30th matriculation ceremony for the 2026 1 academic semester will hold virtually across all study centres of the university. A web link and time for all study centres and matriculating students to join the ceremony will be forwarded in due course.

Study Centre Directors have been directed to organise the orientation programme on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, for all newly admitted students, one day before the matriculation ceremony takes place.

The notice reads in part, "We write to inform all Study Centre Directors that the 30th Matriculation Ceremony for the 2026 1 Academic Semester will be held on Wednesday, 8th April 2026 across all the study centres of the University. The Ceremony will be held virtually. A weblink and time for all the Study Centres and matriculating students to join the ceremony will be forwarded in due course."

The development concerns matriculating students, newly admitted students, Study Centre Directors and all study centres of the university. Fresh students are advised to monitor official communication channels for the web link and the scheduled time for joining the virtual ceremony.
