Students at Alex Ekwueme Federal University, Ndufu Alike Ikwo (AE FUNAI) are in line for a new law auditorium, improved internal roads, and a fresh round of scholarships after the Senator representing Ebonyi North Senatorial District paid a working visit to the institution and announced a series of interventions.

Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi, who also serves as Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, made the pledges during a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Vice Chancellor, Professor Daniel Nwachukwu, at his office on campus. "As part of my intervention plans, I pledge to construct internal road networks within the university and build an ultra modern Law Auditorium valued at ₦200 million," he said.

The Senator also announced automatic scholarships for 20 indigent students of the institution, with beneficiaries to be unveiled in April during his empowerment programme.

Professor Nwachukwu welcomed the commitments, stressing the importance of sustained collaboration between the University and members of the National Assembly from Ebonyi State. He also took the opportunity to acknowledge an earlier intervention by the senator, in which Nwebonyi settled outstanding school fees for pioneer medical students at the institution, enabling them to complete their studies and take their medical oaths.

A Lecturer in the Faculty of Law, Barrister Nnaemeka Nwambam, who also serves as Chief of Staff to the senator, and Head of the Department of Accountancy Dr Monday Ikpor, both spoke at the visit, commending the Senator's support for the institution.

For a Federal University still building its infrastructure and academic foundations, the pledged auditorium, road network, and scholarships represent tangible relief for both students and staff navigating the realities of a developing campus.
