Ongoing renovation works at orientation camps in Enugu and Osun states have forced the National Youth Service Corps to adjust the commencement date of the 2026 Batch A Stream II Orientation Exercise for corps members deployed to both states.
The NYSC, in a statement signed by Director of Information and Public Relations Caroline Embu, announced that the orientation exercise for Enugu and Osun states will now commence on Tuesday, 28 April 2026, and conclude on Monday, 18 May 2026, one week later than the schedule for the remaining 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
The orientation exercise for all other states and the FCT remains on course, running from Wednesday, 22 April 2026, to Tuesday, 12 May 2026.
The NYSC attributed the shift solely to extensive renovation activities being carried out by the state governments of Enugu and Osun, which made it necessary to push back the opening of camps in both states.
Corps members deployed to Enugu and Osun states are advised to take note of the revised dates and plan their travel accordingly. The scheme urged all affected corps members to ensure compliance with the updated schedule.
The NYSC extended good wishes to all prospective corps members as they journey to their respective states of deployment.
