The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps has used the occasion of the 2026 Workers Day celebration to recognise the contributions of staff across the scheme, describing their commitment as central to the NYSC's continued relevance and growth.
In a message to NYSC staff on Thursday, the Director General congratulated every member of the scheme's workforce, acknowledging their role in sustaining operations as the NYSC approaches its 53rd year of existence.
The DG noted that the dedication shown by staff at all levels had remained the foundation upon which the scheme's mandate was built and executed.
"As we approach 53 years of the NYSC's existence, I pause to acknowledge and deeply appreciate your unwavering commitment and invaluable contributions to the growth and success of our noble scheme. Your professionalism, resilience, and passion remain the bedrock upon which the NYSC stands, driving the realisation of our mandate and positively impacting the lives of countless Nigerian youths," the message read.
The Director General further assured members of staff that their welfare and career advancement remained a priority for the scheme's management, with structures in place to ensure that hard work is recognised and rewarded.
"I assure you that your welfare and career development remain Management's top priorities. We remain committed to fostering an environment where your efforts are recognised and rewarded and where opportunities for personal and professional growth abound," the message stated.
The DG concluded the message with an appeal for continued dedication, expressing confidence that the scheme would record greater milestones in the years ahead.
"Thank you for your dedication and service. Together, we will continue to uphold the ideals of the NYSC and strive for even greater achievements in the years ahead. Nigeria is ours; Nigeria we serve," the message added.
