The National Youth Service Corps coordinator in Anambra State, Pauline Ojisua, has called on Nigerians to commit to building a stronger, united, and prosperous nation, reaffirming that the scheme's founding ideals remain as relevant today as they were 53 years ago.
Ojisua made the call on Friday during a ceremony held at the Engr. Ebele Ofunneamaka Okeke Federal Secretariat Complex, where she described the NYSC as a vehicle for patriotism, discipline, and national integration.
"This NYSC@53 ceremony symbolizes not only celebration, but also our collective commitment to the ideals of patriotism, discipline, and national integration upon which the Scheme was founded," she stated.
The coordinator affirmed that the scheme had consistently fostered national unity, youth development, and selfless service to the country since its establishment, and expressed appreciation to Stakeholders, Staff, and Corps Members for their dedication and contributions to its success in the state and across Nigeria.
She also expressed gratitude for the vision, growth, and achievements the scheme had recorded over the years.
A lecture on the development strides and achievements of the scheme was delivered at the event by Assistant Director of Community Development Service, Anthony Ibekwe, alongside goodwill messages from selected staff and corps members.
