Accurate health data is the backbone of effective patient care, hospital management and policy formulation, the National President of the Association of Health Records and Information Management Practitioners of Nigeria (AHIRMPN), Mr. Afolabi Abiodun, has stated, as 187 Health Information Management graduates of the Osun State College of Health Technology (OSCO HEALTH), Ilesa, were formally inducted into the Health Records Officers Registration Board of Nigeria (HRORBN).

The ceremony, held at the College hall, saw graduates from the ND 2022, PD 2022, and ND 2023 sets take the professional oath in the presence of their parents and guardians. Delivering the induction lecture on the topic "Importance of Accurate Health Data for Decision Making: How Health Data Helps Doctors, Hospitals, and Government Planning," Abiodun stressed that "health information managers provide data that ensures patients recover quickly and healthcare systems function efficiently." He encouraged the graduates to guard their professional licences jealously, describing them as gateways to opportunities within the health information industry.

The Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of HRORBN, Alhaji Bamanga Mustapha, represented by Mrs. Comfort Gbemisola, charged the graduates to make the board proud wherever they serve, stressing that the board would continue to monitor their professional conduct globally.

The Provost of OSCO HEALTH, Dr. Lateef Olarewaju Raheem, represented by the Deputy Provost, Mrs. Margaret Oparinde, urged the inductees to maintain professionalism at all times and to view the milestone as a foundation for greater achievements ahead. "Always uphold the tenets and laws of your profession," the Provost stated. "Never forget the guiding principles that define Health Information Management, wherever your career takes you."

During the oath taking segment, the Head of Department for Health Information Management, Mrs. Oluwatosin Busoye, urged the graduates to demonstrate integrity and resilience in their work, emphasising the ethical responsibilities tied to their profession. Graduates Balogun Elizabeth, Ajao Afeez, and Ajai Chukwuemeka expressed gratitude for their achievements and thanked their parents and guardians for their support.
