Fresh students at the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, have been warned that failure to complete their registration by Thursday, April 16, 2026, will be treated as a lack of interest in their admission offer, as the institution prepares for its 2025/2026 matriculation ceremony on Friday, April 17, 2026.
The announcement was conveyed through an internal memorandum issued by the Office of the Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs, which described the matriculation as a compulsory statutory exercise that formally inducts fresh students into the academic and social structure of the institution.
The ceremony will be held at the Poly Celebration Ground on the main campus, with proceedings scheduled to commence at exactly 10:00 a.m. Expected participants include National Diploma I, Higher National Diploma I, and Nigeria Certificate in Education I students, as well as faculty members and invited dignitaries.
Management stated that only students who have fully completed their admission processes will be permitted to participate. This includes departmental clearances, payment of requisite school fees, and successful online course registration. The institution warned that defaulters risk sanctions ranging from exclusion from the matriculation exercise to possible forfeiture of admission.
The polytechnic described the ceremony as more than a formal gathering, noting that it represents a rite of passage that ushers students into a new phase of academic responsibility, discipline, and institutional culture. It also symbolises each student's commitment to abide by the rules and regulations guiding their academic pursuits.
Students have been strongly advised to regularise their academic status ahead of the April 16 deadline, with the institution making clear that no exceptions will be granted once the registration window closes.
