A new business school focused on producing morally grounded professionals has been inaugurated at Redeemer's University, Redemption City, Mowe, Ogun State, marking the institution's formal entry into executive business education in Nigeria.
The inauguration was officially opened by Pastor Folu Adeboye, the wife of the Visitor to Redeemer's University and Mother in Israel of the Redeemed Christian Church of God. At the ceremony, she prayed, "The Lord that established you today will continue to move you forward," adding that the progress of everyone involved with the Business School would know no limits.
Pro Chancellor and Governing Council Chairman, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, framed the establishment of the school as a direct response to a leadership crisis. He stated that Redeemer's University Business School was not just another addition to executive business education but a necessary solution to build strong men and women of integrity in a world where such virtues have become a rarity.
Pastor Kayode Pitan, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, reinforced that position. "We want to have men and women with integrity, people trusting God to do exploits in the marketplace. We have an excellent curriculum, but more importantly, we will produce people that God will use to change this nation for the better," he stated.
Vice Chancellor Professor Shadrach Olufemi Akindele used the occasion to thank the newly appointed board members, including corporate executives, for accepting the mandate to grow the institution into the number one position in the industry.
Among the inaugurated board members was Mr Ade Buraimo, Managing Director and CEO of Alpha Morgan Bank, who noted that most board members had studied at top rated global business schools, including Harvard. He pledged to channel that experience into the school's operations. "We will take advantage of our closeness to the commercial nerve centre of the country, which is Lagos. We will bring our wealth of knowledge into the management of the Business School to ensure that all our graduates will not just be professionally superior technocrats but morally sound also," Buraimo assured.
