The Governing Council of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education, Ijebu Ode, has appointed Samuel Oladipo as the institution's new Vice Chancellor, effective 5 May 2026.

The appointment was announced by the Pro Chancellor and Chairman of the Governing Council, Rahamon Bello, at the conclusion of a council meeting on Tuesday, and confirmed in a statement issued by the institution's Registrar, Oladapo Oke.

Bello described Oladipo's emergence as a product of merit, dedication, and commitment to the university's founding ideals. Oladipo becomes the third indigenous and sixth substantive Vice Chancellor of the institution.

A Professor of Social Psychology, Oladipo is a foundation staff member of the university, having joined in 1999 when the institution operated as Tai Solarin College of Education. He attained the rank of Professor in October 2014.

His administrative career within the institution spans several senior roles, including Chairman of the University Result Vetting Board, Pioneer Director of the Directorate of Research and External Relations, Pioneer Dean of the College of Specialised and Professional Education, Deputy Director of the Directorate of Academic Planning, Quality Assurance and Research, and Sub Dean of the College of Applied Education and Vocational Technology.

Oladipo also held a sabbatical appointment at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba Akoko, and completed a post doctoral fellowship at North West University, Mafikeng, South Africa, between 2013 and 2015. He is a recipient of the National Research Fund.

A prolific scholar, Oladipo has published more than 70 articles in peer reviewed journals and has authored and edited several academic and non academic books, including more than 15 Christian titles. His research interests cover spirituality and health, help seeking behaviour, gender based violence, child abuse, and psychological scale development.

He holds membership in several professional bodies, including the American Psychological Association, the Psychological Association of Nigeria, the Nigeria Social Psychology Association, the Counselling Psychology Association of Nigeria, and the African Scientist Organisation.
