Taraba State's Commissioner for Secondary, Technical and Vocational Education, Dr Augustina Godwin, has directed principals, invigilators, and supervisors across four local government areas to uphold zero tolerance for malpractice during the 2026 West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

The directive was issued on Saturday at a WAEC 2026 sensitisation meeting held at the Government Technical and Training School in Jalingo, bringing together examination officials and school administrators from Lau, Karim Lamido, Jalingo, and Ardo Kola Local Government Councils.

Dr Godwin stressed that professionalism, discipline, and integrity must define the administration of the examination across the state, warning all officials against any conduct that undermines the credibility of the process. "Taraba State must continue to stand out in academic excellence through hard work and credibility. We must collectively ensure zero malpractice during the conduct of WAEC examinations," she stated.

The commissioner noted that the Taraba State Government under Governor Agbu Kefas remains committed to promoting quality education and restoring public confidence in the examination system, adding that strict compliance with WAEC rules and guidelines was non negotiable for all examination personnel.

The WAEC Branch Controller in the state also addressed the gathering, commending Governor Kefas for his consistent support of the education sector. He noted that the governor was the first in the state's history to clear all 2026 WAEC related fees, a development he said had relieved parents of financial pressure and increased student participation in external examinations.

The branch controller further acknowledged the governor's donation of a utility van to the WAEC office and other forms of institutional support aimed at strengthening the examination body's operations within the state.

The sensitisation meeting, organised ahead of the commencement of the 2026 WASSCE, was attended by principals, invigilators, and supervisors drawn from secondary schools across the four local government areas covered by the session.
