The Worldwide Executive Council of the Tai Solarin Federal University of Education Alumni Association has reaffirmed its commitment to the institution's growth, pledging to intensify collaboration with University management across infrastructure development, student welfare, scholarships, mentorship, and resource mobilisation following a courtesy visit to the newly appointed Vice Chancellor.
The delegation visited Professor Samuel Ekundayo Oladipo to congratulate him on his appointment as the sixth substantive Vice Chancellor of the University and to express the alumni body's readiness to support his vision for the institution.
Leading the delegation, Worldwide President of the Alumni Association, Mr Oladeji Bolaji Julius, described Professor Oladipo's emergence as a well earned recognition of his years of academic excellence and administrative competence. He expressed confidence that the new Vice Chancellor possessed the leadership qualities required to move the University to greater heights.
Mr Oladeji noted that the association intends to channel its interventions through infrastructural development, scholarship schemes, career mentorship, professional networking, advocacy, and strategic resource mobilisation to complement the efforts of University management. He added that graduates owe a collective responsibility to contribute to the continued progress of their alma mater.
Responding, Professor Oladipo described the alumni association as one of the University's most valuable stakeholders, stressing that the success of every globally respected university is largely determined by the strength of its partnerships with graduates and development partners.
The Vice Chancellor commended the association for past contributions to the physical and academic development of TASFUED, including the construction and renovation of hostels, lecture halls, and other essential infrastructure. He also praised the ongoing construction of the Alumni Postgraduate Hostel as a further demonstration of the association's commitment to improving learning facilities.
Professor Oladipo disclosed that plans are underway to establish a Directorate of Advancement to serve as a coordinating platform for the Alumni Association, the TASFUED Foundation, and other development partners, to strengthen fundraising, stakeholder engagement, and the University's national and international visibility.
He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to transparency, collaboration, and inclusive governance, assuring graduates that their expertise and support would remain central to the University's transformation agenda.
The delegation included Immediate Past President Dr Oyekanmi Abdullahi Abiodun, National Secretary Mr Oladele Olufemi and Vice President Dr Bello Adesina, alongside other members of the National Executive Council.
