A 2022 first class graduate of Crescent University, Abeokuta, has emerged among the top performers at the 2026 induction of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, finishing first in Labour Market Analysis and first runner up overall from a field of 1,000 candidates.
Masturah Adelakin, who was the best graduating student in the Department of Business Administration during her 2022 set, was officially inducted as an Associate Member of CIPM and received a cash prize of ₦200,000 from the Institute.
Her feat came within days of another Crescent University graduate making headlines. Rofeeqoh Adeyinka Odunmbaku, an Accounting graduate of the Institution, led all candidates in the November 2025 diet of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, results of which were released a week before Adelakin's induction.
Adelakin attributed her performance to discipline and sacrifice, noting that balancing work with professional examination preparation was demanding.
"The journey was honestly not an easy one. Balancing work responsibilities with studying for professional examinations required a lot of discipline, sacrifice, and consistency," she stated.
She credited her University training as foundational to her professional outlook, adding that "Crescent University has contributed immensely to my success and personal growth. The Academic standard and method of teaching played a major role in shaping my learning approach and professional mindset."
Adelakin also expressed gratitude to lecturers in the Department of Business Administration for their dedication, support, and commitment to excellence.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Ibraheem Gbajabiamila described the back to back achievements as characteristic of the Institution's output, noting that Crescent University students' and alumni achievements represent "consistent seasonal harvests of academic and moral excellence."
