Fresh and final year students at the University of Ibadan have been given a tight one week window to secure accommodation in the institution's Halls of Residence or risk losing eligibility for the 2025/2026 academic session.

The Student Affairs Division, in a notice signed by the Dean of Students on February 17, 2026, announced that the Accommodation Module will be open from February 17 to February 23, 2026, exclusively for first year and final year undergraduates.

The university clarified that only students who complete their applications during this period via the official portal will be considered for available bed spaces. Other returning students, often referred to as stalites, as well as postgraduate students, will be able to access the system at a later date, which has yet to be announced.

Management emphasized the importance of completing the online application process properly. They warned that failure to follow the outlined procedure may result in automatic disqualification from securing accommodation.

Students must log in at https://student-portal.ui.edu.ng/login and click the Hall button on their dashboard to begin. The portal displays two sections: Hall Application and Hall Allocation. Applicants should select Hall Application, complete the required form with accurate next-of-kin information, and upload a recent colour passport photograph with a white background, not exceeding 50 kb.

Returning students will indicate whether they have completed the Jaja registration process. If they select Yes, their status is verified against the university database before they can proceed. Those whose registration cannot be confirmed will be blocked from submitting their hall application. New students do not need to answer questions about Jaja registration, but they must fill out all other required fields before submitting.

After submission, applicants should monitor the Hall Allocation page continuously for the Hall Warden's decision. Once approved, the status changes from Registered to Accepted, which triggers the payment stage. Students must click the Fees tab, select My Fees, and pay the Hall Fee first. Receipts can be downloaded via Fees > Transactions > View.

Subsequently, students pay Basic Hall Dues and Optional Hall Dues via www.unibadanmfb.org. Basic Hall Dues are compulsory, while Optional Hall Dues are discretionary. Once payment is confirmed, the status changes to Paid, and the Hall Warden assigns a room number that's displayed on the Hall Allocation page.

Students must print their Accommodation Slip and Hall Identity Card in colour. Room keys will only be issued upon presenting both documents at the Hall of Residence. For assistance, students can contact 09070983683, 08135354119, or 08027351059.
