With just days remaining before the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination PIN vending window closes, Jigawa State has recorded 12,860 completed registrations spread across 16 Computer Based Test centres in the state.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board's Public Relations Officer in Jigawa, Mukarram Bello Adamu, disclosed these figures in a statement issued to journalists on Wednesday in Dutse.

The data reveals that Federal University Dutse centres dominated the registration numbers, processing 4,936 candidates, representing the highest concentration in a single institution across the state. Jigawa State College of Education, Gumel centers followed with 2,287 registrations.

The JAMB State Office in Dutse handled 1,740 candidates, Future Map Foundation Centre in Hadejia registered 1,662 candidates, and Bunyaminu Usman Polytechnic in Hadejia processed 1,622 registrations.

BHT Inter Systems in Dutse registered 1,091 candidates, Al Hikmah CBT Centre in Birnin Kudu recorded 728 registrations, and G City College of Nursing Sciences in Gwaram processed 678 candidates.

Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic in Kazaure registered 596 candidates, Jigawa State Institute of Information Technology in Kazaure handled 569 registrations, Jigawa State College of Advanced and Remedial Studies in Babura recorded 134 candidates, and Sule Lamido University in Kafin Hausa registered 28 candidates.

Adamu emphasised critical deadlines facing prospective candidates, noting that UTME PIN vending closes on 26th February, while UTME registration closes on 28th February.

Looking ahead to Direct Entry applicants, Adamu revealed that "the Direct Entry Registration will commence from March 2, 2026, to April 25, 2026, at the JAMB office in Dutse only."

He urged candidates yet to register to take immediate action, stressing that "the registration process is ongoing, and candidates are advised to complete their registration before the deadline."

Adamu assured candidates of a smooth registration experience and directed them to visit the JAMB website for additional information and guidance.

The registration performance across Jigawa's 16 centres demonstrates the importance of establishing multiple access points for candidates, particularly in states where geographical spread can affect students' ability to reach registration venues.

Candidates procrastinating on registration now face mounting pressure as both PIN purchase and registration deadlines converge within the same week, leaving no room for last minute complications or technical difficulties.
