Management at the Federal Polytechnic, Ile Oluji (FEDPOLEL), Ondo State, has approved the deployment of an electronic appraisal system for the 2026 Annual Staff Review Exercise, the Registrar, Mr Gabriel Adeyemi Awe, disclosed.
He spoke during a one day sensitisation programme organised on the institution's premises to acquaint academic, senior non teaching, and junior staff with the new platform and its operational procedures. The programme was confirmed in a press statement issued by Sanmi Enigbokan, Deputy Registrar, Information, Protocol and Passages.
Awe explained that the system is a paperless platform designed to safeguard appraisal records, reduce administrative costs, shorten the appraisal cycle, and ensure secure long term storage of staff records. He urged staff to embrace the innovation with an open mind, noting that cooperation and commitment from all stakeholders would be essential to its successful implementation and sustainability.
The Rector, Dr Ademola Iyanda Ebeloku, represented by the Deputy Rector, Dr Samson Adehugha Omogbehin, underscored the importance of the platform in modernising the institution's performance evaluation process and enhancing administrative efficiency. He noted that the system would facilitate objective, transparent and timely performance evaluation by enabling staff and supervisors to complete appraisal activities online, monitor performance indicators, provide feedback and generate reports with greater accuracy and convenience.
The Rector further highlighted key benefits, including improved operational efficiency, enhanced transparency and accountability, faster feedback and decision making, reduced paperwork and improved monitoring of staff development and institutional performance.
During a practical session, the Assistant Registrar, Personnel Affairs Division, Mr Ayodeji Daniel Olugboyega, demonstrated the features and operation of the platform. He informed participants that access would be granted exclusively through staff members' official Institutional email addresses via the Polytechnic's website.
Participants recommended that the implementation timeline be flexible enough to accommodate all users and that identified technical issues be resolved before full deployment to ensure seamless operation. Management assured participants that all observations and recommendations would be duly considered to guarantee the effectiveness of the system.
