The Nigerian Education Loan Fund has released ₦124,100,200 to Dennis Osadebay University, Asaba, covering 481 students under the Federal Government's student loan scheme for the 2025/2026 academic session.

NELFUND disclosed the disbursement through its official X page, confirming that the funds were allocated to cover eligible beneficiaries at the Delta State owned Institution for the current academic session. The Fund stated that the amount was released specifically to support the tuition and approved educational costs of the affected students.

According to the Fund, the payment forms part of its ongoing nationwide disbursement initiative, which continues to expand access to higher education by easing the financial burden faced by qualified students across tertiary Institutions in the country.

The student loan scheme remains a flagship intervention of the Federal Government, designed to ensure that Nigerian students are not denied the opportunity to pursue tertiary education because of financial constraints. NELFUND has continued to roll out disbursements to various Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education nationwide as more students are verified and captured under the scheme.

Dennis Osadebay University students benefiting from this latest tranche join a growing list of beneficiaries across the country who have received support since the loan scheme's rollout began, with the Federal Government maintaining that the initiative will continue to be extended to additional qualified applicants as verification processes are completed.

The Fund has not disclosed a further breakdown of the disbursement per individual student at Dennis Osadebay University, though it maintained that the release aligns with its broader commitment to easing financial pressure on students pursuing tertiary education across Nigeria.
