The management of Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, has extended the deadline for its 2026/2027 UTME and Direct Entry online screening application, giving prospective applicants until 13th July 2026 to complete their registration.
University officials disclosed that the extension was granted primarily to accommodate candidates who recently changed their Institution of first choice to DELSU, ensuring they have sufficient time to finalise their online screening profiles before the portal closes.
Management reiterated that the core admission parameters for the 2026/2027 session remain unchanged. Candidates are required to have scored a minimum of 150 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination to qualify for screening, while admission will continue to be determined through a composite grading system comprising 70% for the JAMB UTME score and 30% for O Level results.
The University had earlier opened its Post UTME and Direct Entry screening portal on Friday, 29th May 2026, inviting candidates who selected DELSU as their first choice Institution in the 2026 UTME to apply. Applicants who did not originally choose DELSU were advised to process a Change of Institution through JAMB before completing their online registration.
Candidates are also required to upload their O Level results on the JAMB portal, with those still awaiting results permitted to apply on the condition that their results are uploaded as soon as they are released. The University noted that candidates who fail to upload their O Level results on the JAMB portal will not be considered for admission.
Direct Entry applicants seeking admission must possess acceptable qualifications such as NCE, OND, HND, a First Degree, or A Level equivalent in relevant disciplines. Screening updates, including further instructions, will be communicated to candidates through the phone numbers and email addresses provided during registration.
Candidates yet to complete their applications, along with those who recently switched their first choice Institution to DELSU, have been strongly advised to utilise the extended window and complete their online screening before the new 13th July deadline.
