The University of Lagos has released comprehensive guidelines for its 2026/2027 Post UTME Aptitude Test, mandating full online conduct under a remotely proctored system with strict device, environment, and behavioural requirements for all candidates.

The university's Registrar and Secretary to Council, Mrs Abosede Wickliffe, announced that the aptitude test will run from 27 July to 31 July, cautioning that violations of examination guidelines may result in disqualification or other disciplinary sanctions.

Mrs Wickliffe directed candidates to use only laptop computers equipped with built in webcams and microphones, stating that mobile phones, tablets, external cameras, smart glasses, headphones, wristwatches and all other wearable electronic devices are prohibited throughout the 30 minute test.

The registrar noted that candidates must remain alone in a well lit, quiet environment for the duration of the examination, adding that speaking, reading questions aloud or permitting any other person into the examination space would constitute misconduct.

Candidates are required to maintain stable internet access and uninterrupted electricity supply, though the university confirmed it will bear no liability for disruptions caused by power outages, network failures or other technical problems outside its control.

Mrs Wickliffe explained that the examination begins the moment a candidate clicks the "Start Examination" button and will be automatically submitted once the allotted time elapses, regardless of any interruption encountered.

The registrar confirmed that participation in a mock examination is compulsory for all candidates. The mock test, accessible until 25 July, is designed to verify device compatibility, webcam and microphone functionality, internet connectivity and familiarity with the examination platform. Candidates are required to use the same laptop, internet connection and examination environment for both the mock and actual tests.

Mrs Wickliffe stated that the examination is accessible only through the university's official application portal, the email link sent to candidates or the designated examination website. Candidates must also install the Safe Examination Browser, which supports Windows 10 and above or macOS Ventura and later versions.

The registrar warned against patronising cybercafés, CBT centres, business centres or individuals claiming affiliation with the university, reiterating that the screening will be conducted solely online from locations of candidates' choice.

She confirmed that the only approved screening fee is ₦5,500, comprising a ₦2,000 application fee and a ₦3,500 administrative charge, urging candidates to disregard requests for additional payments from unauthorised parties.

The university reserved the right to investigate fraud, impersonation and examination malpractice, stressing that all decisions relating to the conduct and outcome of the screening exercise will be final and binding.
