Admission Route into UNIMAID

You just saw all the offered courses and programmes in UNIMAID. As an aspiring student, different pathways can give you access to studying any of the listed courses in UNIMAID.

Let's break it down;

UTME Admission:

This is the most common route; every academic session, thousands of students take the UTME examination, and UNIMAID is selected as prefered institution.

The University of Maiduguri have rules that students following the UTME route must abide by.

  • You must score at least 150 in your UTME examination to pick UNIMAID Post UTME form.

  • Candidates must select UNIMAID as their first choice of Institution.

  • Candidates must have the correct O'level combination to match their selected programme.

  • You must get a minimum of 5 credits in your O'level examination in your core subjects, including English and Mathematics.

Direct Entry Admission:

  • National Diploma (ND): Students with this qualification must have a minimum of Lower Credit to be able to gain admission into UNIMAID.

  • Higher National Diploma (HND): It also requires a minimum of Lower Credit.

  • NCE: Student with an NCE certificate must have a minimum of a Merit grade to be admitted into UNIMAID on a direct entry basis.

Pre degree Programme Admission:

This is usually for students who could not get in through the normal UTME route. This is organised as a coaching programme, but a bridge to get direct admission the coming year.

The pre degree student needs an O'level requirement of 3-5 credits, including English and Mathematics, and a UTME score of 160 to automatically transition to 100L after their one year program.
