Official UNIMAID Resumption Date 2025/2026 Academic Session
In a circulating memo from the office of the University of Maiduguri registrar, and signed by the deputy registrar, Mrs Azara Umar Ibrahim. The decision of resumption date for the 2025/2026 academic session was made by the University Senate at the meeting held on the 13th of November, 2025.
The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) has set January 15th, 2026, as the official resumption date for all students, both fresh and returning students.
In a related development, on the same date, 15th of January,2026, had been set out by the university as the registration date for fresh students. So if you are a newly admitted student, it is expected that you be on campus on the resumption date.
Returning students are to commence their registration on the 26th of January, 2026, approximately 11 days after the newly admitted students.
Lectures will commence on Monday, February 2nd, 2026, for all students and lecturers.
How to Complete UNIMAID Registrations
At the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), before you can use the online portal, you must be cleared by your faculty and department. Here is how to complete the process;
For Fresh students:
The following documents will be needed for this process
JAMB admission letter and result slip
A copy of your University Admission letter that can be gotten from your faculty office for UTME students, and direct entry students can get theirs in the ICT centre.
Present your original credentials ( Birth certificate, O'level, Indigene letter, etc)
This document must be submitted to both your faculty and departments.
For Returning Students:
Here are the needed documents to be submitted;
Report to your departmental level coordinator
Collect your clearance form and ensure all previous semester results are in order.
After completeing this stage, you are given access to the university portal.
The Online Phase:
Visit the University Official Portal umstad.online
Input your Username, which is your JAMB Registration Number (for freshers) or your ID Number (for returning students)
Input the default password, which is umstad@2026 or the password as specified on your clearance form
After this, pay your school fees and proceed to register for your courses.
Course Registration:
Log back into the university portal
Click on course registration.
Select your compulsory and elective courses for the first semester.
Submit and print at least four copies of your course registration form.
Final Stage of registration:
Take your printed forms to the following offices;

The Faculty Officer
The Exams and Records Office
Note: The registration deadline is on the 30th of January, 2026. Any student who fails to register will be believed to have left UNIMAID.
