The management of Osun State University has thrown its full weight behind newly appointed Chancellor Victoria Adunola Samson, with the institution's vice chancellor describing her as a perfect fit for the role following her formal acceptance of the appointment made by Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye made the remarks while responding to Mrs Samson's appreciation letter, which he said reflected the qualities the university community had hoped to see in its new chancellor.

"The response of our highly revered Chancellor clearly reflects her deep passion for education, excellence and humanity. Her words are inspiring and reassuring. We are convinced beyond doubt that she is a round peg in a round hole," Adebooye stated.

The vice chancellor praised Mrs Samson's record in business and humanitarian service, expressing confidence that her emergence would strengthen the University's growth and reputation.

"She has demonstrated uncommon grace, competence and commitment in both business and humanitarian service over the years. The entire University community is excited to work with a personality of her calibre as we continue to move the Institution to greater heights," he added.

Adebooye noted that Mrs Samson's acceptance message had reinforced the confidence of the Governing Council, management, staff, students and alumni in the University's future.

In her response, Mrs Samson expressed appreciation for the warm reception and pledged active collaboration with the vice chancellor, Governing Council and other stakeholders.

"I commit to being a Chancellor who is accessible, supportive, and purposeful; one who works in concert with the Vice Chancellor, the Governing Council, and all University stakeholders to advance Osun State University's standing as a centre of academic excellence, innovation, and societal transformation," she said.

Mrs Samson is also committed to deploying her experience, network and resources towards positioning the Institution as a University of national distinction and global relevance.

Adebooye expressed optimism that the partnership between the University management and the new Chancellor would open a new chapter of progress and innovation for the Institution.
