The University of Lagos has honoured Professor Musa Obalola, the immediate past Dean of Students Affairs, in recognition of his contributions to student welfare and institutional stability during a tenure that spanned four years.
The tribute was paid on Monday, 16 March 2026, during the University Management's weekly meeting at the Vice Chancellor's Boardroom on the 10th floor of the UNILAG Senate House, where colleagues gathered to mark the conclusion of his time in office.
Vice Chancellor Professor Folasade Ogunsola, OON, FAS, led the commendations, describing Professor Obalola's tenure as impactful and widely appreciated by the student community. She noted that beyond completing his term, he had distinguished himself by earning the genuine respect and goodwill of students throughout his stewardship, a quality she said contributed directly to the peace and stability the University enjoyed during the period.
Members of the University Management also praised the outgoing Dean, highlighting his maturity, wisdom, diligence, patience, composure, and professionalism as hallmarks of his service. They commended his ability to uphold students' rights while simultaneously maintaining order and discipline within the institution.
Professor Obalola, in his response, expressed gratitude to God and to members of management for the support and cooperation he received throughout his tenure, noting that their collective commitment had made it possible to record meaningful progress in the administration of student affairs.
