Vice Chancellor Professor Mrs Eunice E. Omonzejie has officially given the "okay" to open the university’s hostel portal. This is a big deal because it means the race to grab a room on campus has officially started for this school year.

The portal officially went live on Wednesday, February 4th, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Since then, it’s been open for any student who is eligible to apply. If you want a room that’s safe, close to your classes, and affordable, this is your chance to secure one.

Note: Only students who have completed their school fees for the 2025/2026 academic session will be eligible to apply.

How to Apply/Pay for AAU Hostel Allocation 2025/2026 Academic Session

  • Visit aaue.waeup.org

  • Log in using your username and password.

  • Before you can pick a room, the school requires a small "Bed Allocation Fee" (usually around 1,000 Naira).

  • Go to the "My Data" tab and click on "Payments."

  • Click "Add Online Payment Ticket" and select "Bed Allocation Fee" from the list.

  • Pay using your ATM card via the "CollegePAY" (Interswitch) gateway.

  • Once the payment is successful, look at your payment slip. You will see an activation code. Copy the code immediately.

  • Under the same "My Data" tab, click on "Accommodation Data."

  • Select the hostel you want from the available list. Remember, some hostels are strictly for girls and others are for boys

  • Click on "Book Accommodation" and paste the Activation Code you copied earlier.

  • Go back to "Payments" and click "Add Online Payment Ticket." This time, select "Hostel Accommodation Fee."

  • The price depends on which hostel you choose. Follow the same "CollegePAY" steps to pay with your card.

  • After paying, download and print your accommodation slip. You will need this physical receipt to show the Hall Warden when you arrive at the hostel to move in.

AAU Hostel Rules and Regulations

  • Cooking inside your rooms is highly prohibited. Students must use the designated kitchenette areas.

  • Bringing a gas cylinder into the hostel room is extremely dangerous and strictly prohibited.

  • Squatting of all forms is highly prohibited in all of AAU hostels.

  • The Hall Wardens and Porters are the bosses of the hostel. If they give you a directive, you must follow it. Disrespecting hostel staff can lead to you losing your accommodation rights.

  • Playing loud music that disturbs your fellow students is not allowed.

  • Male students are not allowed in female hostels, and female students are not allowed in male hostels.
