Jeffrey Adzam, Information Officer of the Benue State Quality Assurance and Examinations Board, has warned that any student who fails to take part in the Mock Senior Secondary Certificate Examination will not be promoted to Senior Secondary School Three.

"All concerned are strongly advised to ensure strict compliance with these directives," Adzam stated in a public notice issued by the board.

The board announced that registration for the 2026 Mock SSCE is currently ongoing, with a strict deadline of Monday, 31st March 2026, urging all stakeholders including school principals, parents, guardians, and students to treat the registration process with utmost seriousness.

BEQAEB emphasised that the Mock SSCE has been designated as a mandatory qualifying examination for all prospective SS3 students, stressing that only candidates who successfully register and participate in the mock examination will be accredited to sit for external examinations the following year.

Registration is strictly online and must be completed through the board's official portal, with the board advising school authorities to guide students and parents through the process and ensure all required details are accurately submitted.

The mock SSCE is designed to prepare final year secondary school students for the real West African Senior School Certificate Examination and National Examination Council Senior School Certificate Examination by simulating real exam conditions, helping identify strengths, weaknesses, and areas needing improvement.

BEQAEB stated that early registration allows schools and candidates sufficient time for proper documentation, verification, and preparation, noting that the mock examination is a critical requirement in the academic calendar.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to support their wards by promptly providing necessary documents and fees where applicable, while students are reminded to stay focused on their studies as the mock exam serves as a critical benchmark ahead of the main examinations.

The announcement comes as part of ongoing efforts by the Benue State Government to strengthen educational quality assurance and improve performance in national examinations.

Registration is being conducted through approved channels specified by the board, with schools expected to comply fully with guidelines to facilitate a smooth exercise.

Candidates and schools are advised to visit the BEQAEB office or official channels for further details and updates on the registration process before the 31st March deadline.
