Mr Niyi John Olajide, founder of Cavista and Chief Executive Officer of Axxess in the United States, has expressed readiness to establish a transformative partnership with Babcock University focused on innovation, research, and enterprise development.
Professor Afolarin Olutunde Ojewole, President and Vice Chancellor of Babcock University, described Olajide's visit as both a privilege and a sacrifice, noting that his acceptance of the Vice Chancellorship offer was influenced by Olajide's positive response to partnership discussions.
"Together we can change the educational landscape for which Babcock and Nigeria would be a beneficiary," Professor Ojewole emphasised during the meeting with the Cavista founder.
Olajide, whose investments extend beyond technology into agriculture, tourism, the knowledge economy, and civic development initiatives, reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Babcock University's growth ambitions.
"I am deeply passionate about Nigeria and black people and glad that we have the opportunity to partner with Babcock," Olajide stated, praising the university's advancement and development team and promising to mobilise world class resources to strengthen the partnership.
The collaboration aims to bridge academia and industry by leveraging Cavista's global expertise in software engineering solutions and Olajide's diversified investment network to create opportunities for students, faculty, and the wider community.
University officials positioned the prospective partnership as a strategic step toward establishing Babcock as a hub for innovation and enterprise with global relevance, aligning with the institution's broader vision to reshape Nigeria's educational landscape through strategic alliances with industry leaders.
Olajide's relationship with the university dates back several years, as he delivered the commencement address at Babcock's 20th undergraduate and 11th postgraduate convocation in 2022, demonstrating his longstanding commitment to the institution's vision.
