The Dr Cairo Ojougboh Foundation has disbursed ₦2.7 million to cover examination fees for students preparing to sit the West African Examination Council, National Examination Council, and Junior Secondary School 3 examinations.

The Foundation, established in memory of the late medical doctor and House of Representatives member, Dr Cairo Ojougboh, presented the cheque during a special programme held at St. Columba's Grammar School, Agbor, the headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area in Delta State.

The event, themed "Your Future, Your Choice," also featured cash awards for outstanding students across the school's nine academic arms, alongside the distribution of notebooks and writing materials to enhance learning.

Mrs Bose Ojougboh, Chairperson of the Foundation, highlighted the significance of supporting the institution that shaped Dr Cairo's character and values. She reminded students that obstacles should serve as stepping stones rather than barriers to progress.

She encouraged the students to take responsibility for their future through deliberate positive choices in academics and personal conduct, stressing that hard work and consistency remain essential ingredients for success.

Mrs Ojougboh, accompanied by her sons, Mr Nkem Ojougboh and Mr Orieka Ojougboh, urged students to recognise that every decision contributes to their future, emphasising that discipline, consistency, and focus are non-negotiable factors for success.

The programme drew strong support from the Old Boys of St. Columba's Grammar School, led by Elder Ndudi Agholor. Many alumni shared fond memories of their time at the school, recalling their experiences with nostalgia and pride whilst commending the current leadership for upholding the institution's high standards.

The school principal, Rev. Fr. Joseph Ugboh, and the Chairman of Ika South Local Government, Engr. Jerry Ehiwarior praised the Cairo Ojougboh family for the initiative. They encouraged the Foundation to sustain the programme as a meaningful way to preserve Dr Cairo's legacy, describing the gesture as commendable and impactful.

They expressed deep appreciation to the Foundation for the generous support and for honouring the legacy of Dr Cairo Ojougboh, adding that the gesture had greatly inspired and motivated the students to work harder towards their goals.

The programme concluded on an uplifting note, with students expressing renewed motivation and determination to make purposeful decisions about their academic and personal futures.
