Muhammad Habibullah Gbolahan of the Faculty of Allied Health Sciences has emerged as the 10th Students' Union President of Kwara State University (KWASU), polling 3,764 votes in the 2026 Students' Union Election conducted through the University's e-Voting platform.

The official result, signed by the Chairman of the Students' Union Electoral Committee, Hassan Hassan Babatunde, and the Secretary, Ibiwoye Dorcas Ifeoluwa, confirmed that voting commenced at 12:00am on Thursday, July 23, 2026, and closed at 12:00pm the same day.

Habibullah's emergence as president marks a rise within KWASU's Students' Union leadership structure, having served as Financial Secretary under the outgoing 9th administration led by Abdusamad Raji, who was elected in the 2024/2025 cycle.

Alongside Habibullah, Azeezah Omowumi Hadi of the Faculty of Agriculture was elected Vice President, Ilesha Campus, while Laura Omotere Oniha of the Faculty of Information and Communication Technology emerged Vice President, Main Campus.

Ayilara Folashade Abibat was returned as General Secretary, with Olatunji Oladotun Isaac elected Assistant General Secretary, Ramat Adunni Ibrahim elected Financial Secretary, and Jamiu Ibrahim Tanimola elected Public Relations Officer.

Other executives elected include Welfare Director, Kewulere Mustapha Adetayo; Assistant Welfare Director, Ilesha Baruba Campus, Habiba Musa Idris; Assistant Welfare Director, Main Campus, Salaty Abubakar Olajide; Social Director, Akanbi Samiat Mopelolaoluwa; and Assistant Social Director, Davies Oyinkansola Lateefat. Ali Muhammad Awodi was elected Sports Director, with Raji Kehinde Osasola as Assistant Sports Director.

The statement described the election as free, fair, transparent and credible, noting that it was conducted in line with the Electoral Guidelines governing the Students' Union Election. It continues a pattern at KWASU of conducting Union elections entirely through electronic voting, a system the Institution, led by Vice Chancellor, Professor Shaykh Luqman Jimoh, has used for successive Students' Union polls in recent sessions.
