The Vice Chancellor of David Umahi University of Health Sciences, Uburu, has praised President Bola Tinubu's education sector interventions, crediting the Renewed Hope Agenda with fostering stability and accelerating development across Nigerian Universities.
Jesse Uneke made the commendation during the university's 5th matriculation ceremony held over the weekend at Uburu in Ohaozara Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Speaking to the new students and guests, Prof. Uneke highlighted improvements in academic stability, infrastructure development and staff training as tangible outcomes of the Federal Government's education reforms.
He attributed the current stability in the academic calendar to the Federal Government's agreement with the Academic Staff Union of Universities, noting that the resolution of industrial disputes has allowed universities to maintain uninterrupted academic programmes.
Prof. Uneke also commended interventions from the Tertiary Education Trust Fund, which he said have significantly boosted infrastructure development and staff capacity building at David Umahi University of Health Sciences.
He disclosed that the institution has experienced remarkable growth since it commenced academic activities in January 2022 with only 26 students, a testament to both institutional management and the supportive policy environment created by the current administration.
The Vice Chancellor's remarks reflect growing optimism among university leaders that sustained government commitment to education reform, coupled with adequate funding and policy stability, can transform Nigeria's tertiary education sector into a competitive force within the global academic community.
