Federal Polytechnic Ayede Warns Public Against Fake Recruitment Advert Targeting Job Seekers

Job seekers across Nigeria are being warned to disregard a fraudulent recruitment advertisement circulating online that falsely claims to be from the Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State, and directs applicants to submit documents to an unrecognised address in Lagos.

The Management of Federal Polytechnic Ayede issued a public disclaimer on Tuesday, confirming that the notice, titled "Submission of Curriculum Vitae (CVs) for Employment Opportunities in Federal Establishments, Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Oyo State," has no connection to the Institution and was not issued or approved by any of its authorised representatives.

According to Management, the fake advertisement purports to announce Lecturer vacancies and directs applicants to submit documents to a so called Council Secretariat in Igando Oloja, Ibeju Lekki, alongside an unverified contact phone number. The Polytechnic said it has no knowledge of any individual, address, or contact detail referenced in the fraudulent notice, and that none of them exist within its official structure.

The Institution warned that the Advertisement is a deliberate attempt by fraudsters to exploit job seekers under the guise of government employment. It specifically urged members of the public not to submit personal documents or credentials to the listed contacts, and to make no payments of any kind to individuals or groups associated with the fake notice. Anyone who engages with the advertisement, Management stated, does so entirely at their own risk.

Federal Polytechnic Ayede stressed that all legitimate recruitment exercises and official communications are released exclusively through its verified and approved channels.

For graduates and job seekers targeting Federal Institution vacancies, the incident is a reminder that fraudulent recruitment advertisements targeting Public Universities and Polytechnics remain a persistent threat. Any recruitment notice that directs applicants to private addresses or personal phone numbers outside an Institution's official website should be treated as suspicious.
